Boynton Beach Ocean Rescue was established in 1957.  Based at Oceanfront Park, they provide beach lifeguard service and open water rescue to the residents, visitors, and guests of the City of Boynton Beach.

Boynton Beach’s Oceanfront Park is located at 6415 North Ocean Blvd., approximately ¼ mile north of Ocean Avenue on State Road A1A in Ocean Ridge.  The facility is open seven days a week, 365 days a year and is manned by ocean lifeguards from 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM.

Last year Oceanfront Park saw over 243,000 visitors.  Six people were rescued from the water during that time and lifeguard staff treated 448 people for injuries or illness.

The lifeguard staff consists of one Chief Ocean Lifeguard, an Ocean Lifeguard Captain, two Ocean Lifeguard Lieutenants, five full time Ocean Lifeguards and six on-call Ocean Lifeguards.  The staff are certified or licensed as First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, or Paramedics.  Additionally, all Boynton Beach Ocean Lifeguards are certified to operate AED’s, or Automated External Defibrillators, as well as administer epinephrine via Epi-pens to those suffering from anaphylactic shock.

Before you come to the beach, call 742-6775 for a beach conditions report.  The report is updated daily.  If you would like to rent a pavilion at Oceanfront Park, call 742-6650 for reservations.
